Tim Cansler
Founder & Principal, Cansler Consulting, LLC
Tim Cansler brings more than 30 years of experience in federal agricultural policy, congressional affairs, regulatory issues, and government relations.
His career includes senior leadership positions at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, where he served as Assistant to the Under Secretary for Marketing and Regulatory Programs, and at the American Farm Bureau Federation, where he directed federal government affairs and communications strategy. Earlier in his career, he served on Capitol Hill, working with Members of Congress on agricultural and other federal policy matters.
As founder of Cansler Consulting, Tim advises agricultural organizations on federal legislation, congressional appropriations, regulatory policy, and strategic government relations.
Named a Top Lobbyist by the National Institute for Lobbying & Ethics in 2021 and 2024, Tim combines decades of policy expertise and established professional relationships with a commitment to innovation.
Through AgPolicy Forward, he is integrating artificial intelligence technologies with traditional government relations expertise to deliver more timely, targeted, and cost-effective policy intelligence for agricultural organizations.
